It's easy to feel overwhelmed by the idea of making your own holiday gift baskets, but with some recipe ideas that is easy to create a personalized and attentive handmade Christmas gift food basket.

Any of these recipes are a wonderful gift packaging in a plastic bag or cellophane with a ribbon of colors or a pretty jar of marmalade covered with a canvas cover. Add a handmade card with the recipe attached to it and your gift is complete.

1. Herb Beer Batter Bread Mix

To make the mix you need:

2 3 / 4 cups flour

2 tablespoons dry

In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, oregano, thyme and dill. Pack mixture into an airtight container or bag. The mixture can be stored at room temperature for up to 1 month. 1 slice of bread will do.

1 cup chopped walnuts

In a large bowl, combine the oats, flour, sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, salt and baking soda. With a pastry blender, cut in reducing until crumbly.

Stir in raisins, coconut, chocolate and nuts. This mixture can be refrigerated in a container airtight for up to 10 weeks. For about 5 batches of cookies.

Old Fashioned Oatmeal Cookies

combine biscuit mix oatmeal with egg, milk and vanilla until mixture forms dough. Shape into 1 1 / 2 "balls and place on greased baking sheet. Flatten balls with a fork.

Bake at 375A ° F oven for 15 to 18 minutes or until browned. Remove to racks and let cool. Makes 24 biscuits.

3. Spicy Mulled Cider Mix

To make the mix you need:

Cinnamon 3 / 4 cup shredded sticks

3 / 4 cup dried orange rind

1 / allspice 3 cup whole

1 / teeth 4 cup set

Combine juice
and half of cranberry juice

2 tablespoons spicy Mulled Cider Mix

In a saucepan, combine juice and cider mix. Cover and bring to a simmer. Gently simmer for 20 minutes. Strain in cups. Makes 4 servings.
