Christmas School offers help to my family, but I need it?

My 6 year old son received a letter today from school saying his teacher nominated for our family secret Santa program a program that gives Christmas gifts to needy families and wanted to know how many children they have and the size clothing and no interest. Im wondering why you think we're a family in need of my children have no holes in clothing or shoes when they go to school which are clean and have school supplies. We are not rich by any means and we live pay a salary and children have state health insurance and get free lunch at the school, but we are in need and struggle. Why do you think that I think needs help and how it should respond to this letter as I want to find a family that really is in need of help for Christmas? NOT stated in the letter that the children of my master the intended use of the program

They probably looked at the list of free lunch, and the number of children you have, and thought it would be able to benefit from the program. I work in a school, and every year our school is "name" 15 families or so. It's a very difficult and sensitive issue to address. You're never really sure if going to offend a family or to offer much-needed relief. Please, no offense, not an exact "science" per se. Only your school and let them know that although there are to offer support, prefer gifts that are a family who really needs the items, and you're doing well. This way you do not alienate anyone in school, and a family that really could use the extra help would benefit.

Merry Christmas
