christmas gifts donations

How do I get my children involved in giving this Christmas season?
I would love for my children involved in giving to a strange this Christmas. I'd do anything for the nursing home in our hometown, but I have no idea of how to do something like that. I was thinking it would be great if we could go to the nursing home on Christmas Eve and spend some time with the residents there. I'd love to be able to distribute gifts to residents, but how do I ask for donations for that. It would also be cool if we could people to donate a little time for carols. I think something would be very special for the people there, but I've never done anything like that, so I do not know where to begin, or even if possible. Any ideas or suggestions would be very popular.
Assets can take to the local food bank. You can call the neighbors in advance, or toys [or stops at McDonalds] to anyone, but the Tot. Give the bell at the Salvation Army bell. Having to save their pennies to give. If you want to do nursing home visits, call in advance. I do not want to discourage you, or deprive residents of a present, but have no rules. Sometimes they are besieged with people wanting to do or bring for Christmas. And some residents and the production of biscuits to take, or a small gift. My dad always helped with the distribution of Christmas baskets when I was a child. My parents told stories about what you found / saw when he went to the homes of people to get results, good and bad stories [my parents believed in giving me an education in the real world bless]. Do you belong to a church or an organization that helps the poor at Christmas? Even if your children are too young to help make a watch. Call and ask, I'm sure nobody would mind a quick tour to come and see, for example, when the food baskets are bieng packed when explained the purpose. Clean cupboards, and have the clothes to goodwill. Let children help.Buy some mittens and gloves to donate, if your closet is clean. Go to the library and see if your plants are books on the spirit of giving. Be sure to tell some. Caroling is nice, but the same applies, there are many groups that want to. I work in a hospital, and the Patients do not necessarily appreciate the visits, and their families. And the carols not necessarily understand that out of the way when a patient is sick and needs help now. We had two or three groups every night for weeks before Christmas. Is there anyone you'd like to remember at Christmas? The postman? Fire or police? Nursing Nurses and staff? The hospital staff? Call the school before you go, some groups may not accept more than a nominal gift. Do something for our soldiers overseas. There is websites about how to help, what to do. Oh dear, my brain went dead. What is the airport where the soldiers to go to a free meal, have chairs and cots for a place to sleep, serving food, have people to talk. Our local organization of veterans took the cases of individual portions of soup, and when we there, the staff of the information being offered chocolate chip cookies, homemade, were the most popular addition to the soup. Perhaps, if time and money allows, do more than one thing. Merry Christmas, and good for you, trying to teach children about love and charity! We hope you find some activity
